Welcome to the website of the XII EMEP - World Meeting on Teaching Portuguese! (#XIIEMEP), organized by the AOTP - American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese and the I ENNEP - Meeting of Black Narratives in Portugueses (#IENNEP), the Addverse+Poesia collective in partnership with the AOTP- American Organization of Teachers of Portuguese, that will take place at Northwestern University, Evanston (Chicago), IL on the 4th and 5th of August 2023. 

Mais uma vez, o EMEP vai reunir professores de português como língua materna e não-materna de todo o mundo, para um diálogo e aprendizado colaborativo e cooperativo sobre as experiências uns dos outros, sobre inovação, projetos, materiais e novas estratégias de ensino e aprendizagem de português de grande impacto na nossa atividade. 

O I ENNEP reúne a produção artística das comunidades negras falantes de português para um diálogo interdisciplinar com autores, professores e pesquisadores, e ainda explorar estas produções como material pedagógico para as aulas de português como língua estrangeira e de herança.

Os palestrantes do XII EMEP e I ENNEP terão a oportunidade de ver as suas comunicações publicadas pelo Portuguese Language Journal, depois submetidas sem identificação e serem aprovadas por pares. 

Datas importantes:

20 de fevereiro: prazo para o envio de propostas

20 de março: envio da confirmação da aceitação das propostas

20 de abril: prazo para os autores aprovados se inscreverem na conferência

26 de maio: apresentação do programa

Once again, the EMEP will bring together instructors of Portuguese as a native and non-native language from all over the world, for a collaborative and cooperative dialogue and learning about each other's experiences, about innovation, projects, materials and new strategies for teaching and learning Portuguese with significant impact in our activity.

The I ENNEP brings together the artistic production of Portuguese-speaking black communities for an interdisciplinary dialogue with authors, professors and researchers, and also explores these productions as pedagogical material for the teaching of  Portuguese as a foreign and heritage language.

Presenters at the XII EMEP and I ENNEP will have the opportunity to see their communications published in the Portuguese Language Journal, after submitting their articles to a double-blind peer-review process.

Important dates:

February 20th: deadline for submitting proposals

March 20th: sending confirmation of acceptance of proposals

April 20th: deadline for approved authors to register for the conference

May 26th: program presentation
